Bubby, as he is known in our family has always been so special to me.
He's an older cousin but always one of my favorites.
I have such wonderful memories of him from my childhood.

♥'•.¸¸.•´¯´´♥ʚįɞ♥´´¯'•.¸¸.•'♥

I can remember him swinging me around, dancing with me and singing a song.

This song! ♥

The Berry Tree by Bill Hayes
(some of the words, I still remember the tune)

The berry tree's a wise old tree
the sweetest fruit is hidden.
But marrying up with any girl
is just like going to prison.

(chorus)
The higher up the berry tree
the sweeter grows the berry
The more you hug and kiss a gal
the more she wants to marry

Peaches in the summertime,
apples in the fall
Till I find the gal I want,
a-gonna have none at all

The higher up the berry tree
the sweeter grows the berry
The more you hug and kiss a gal
the more she wants to marry

Til I find a fair faced gal,
then with her I'll tarry
and we will live so happily
for that's the gal I'll marry

This song, 'The Berry Tree' by Bill Hayes hit the music charts at #43 in 1955. It was the theme of the movie, "Many Rivers To Cross"

There's a really good chance that it was one of Bubby's favorite songs either from the movie or the release of the song and was still stuck in his brain when I was a little girl, only a few years later.

Not sure the order of the verses, just remember him singin it as loud as he could and dancin with me and swingin me around... a golden memory!!

I hope that where ever he is, he knows how special he is to me. I never had the chance to tell him after I was older.

"For everything there is a season,
and a time for every purpose under Heaven:
a time to be born, a time to die,
a time to plant, a time to uproot,
a time to weep, a time to laugh,
a time to grieve, a time to dance"

~ King Solomon (Ecclesiastes 3)

A Hundred Years From Now...

...it will not matter
what your bank account was,
the sort of house you lived in,
or the kind of car you drove...
but the world will be different
because you were important
in the life of a CHILD...

YOU were important in this child's life
I loveyou ♥
