Robert Hartshorne Large, Spanish American War Veteran, grandson of General Meade and coal traffic manager of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died at the University Hospital on Monday night following an operation for peritonitis on October 4. Mr. Large was 42 years old and lived at 2400 Spruce Street. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John B. Large. Born in this city October 31, 1875 and educated at the Episcopal Academy and University of Pennsylvania. - photo & selection of obituary from the Philadelphia Inquirer, Wed. Oct 10, 1917.
