George and his mother moved from Charleston to New York, New York and was living there when he was drafted 8 January 1965 into the US Army.
When George arrived in Vietnam 4 January 1966, where he was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, USARV. C Company was on a patrol when George stepped and detonated a hostile booby trap and died as a result of traumatic amputation to both lower extremities from the explosion.
Survived by his mother, Martha Brown of 350 East 143rd Street, New York, New York.
