Margaret Lighthill

Margaret Marie (Baker) Lighthill was born June 4, 1925, south of Pauline, Nebraska to William Dowl and Myrtle May (Stethem) Baker. She grew up in the Pauline area and attended Union School. For a number of years she was an employee of the Hastings Regional Center and Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.

Margaret was married to Darrell Lighthill on September 1, 1945, at Smith Center, Kansas. Two sons, Ronald and Lealand, were born to this union.

She passed away November 10, 1994, at Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 69.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers - Harold, Floyd and Guy; and five sisters Agnes Hager, Jessie Kissler, Leona Schmidt, Dorothy Reiman and Betty Mau.

Survivors are Darrell, her husband of 49 years; and her two sons.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 14 at Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel in Blue Hill, Nebraska. Rev. Baldeo Singh officiated. Music was provided by organist, Marlys Kort and soloist, Evart Barton. Hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art".

Pallbearers were William Schmidt, Garry Reiman, William Baker, Donald Kissler, Burdel Reiman and David Mau.

Interment was in Oak Creek Cemetery in Webster County, Nebraska.

Arrangements were by Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill, Nebraska.
