October 7, 1933 - May 22, 2008
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Richard J. "Dick" Prom, age 74, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully on May 22, 2008 at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Reverend Anthony Oelrich and Reverend Ronald Weyrens will officiate. Entombment will take place in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Monday, May 26 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Dick was born October 7, 1933 in St. Cloud to Alphons and Josephine (Bidinger) Prom. He married Arlene Kockler on July 20, 1957 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. He worked in banking in the St. Cloud area for 40 years and retired as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer in December 1999. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, ice cream, fishing and loved to go on cruises with Arlene. He was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council, as president on the finance committee and as lector. He was also a member of the St. Cloud Eagles.
Dick is survived by his wife Arlene of St. Cloud, children Kevin (Ruth) Prom of St. Cloud, Mary Kay (Bruce) Pederson of Waukesha, WI and Janice (Dave) Maiers of Becker, 9 grandchildren, sisters Rita (Hugo) Weyrens of Waite Park and Marcella (Bob) Gill of St. Joseph.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Poor Clare Monastery.
