Researched by Jaycie Smith Rinehart: Born May 24, 1892, Henderson county, Texas. Died: March 22, 1976, Jacksonville, Texas. Father: Phelps Sheppard Smith. Mother: Sarah Jane Brownlow. Married: George Wesley Adair. George and Una Adair had the following children: Ernest Wesley, Beulah Vivian, Hollis William, Howard Elroy, Emma Blanche, Janice, ERma Bernice, Sally Arlene and Selman Derl Adair. A granddaughter, Margaret Dale Williams Fulgham said, "Mammy wore a bun like Aunt Laura (Mrs. Laura Williams Epperson), too. When we took hers down to brush it out and wash it, it would go all the way to the floor and over about 3 feet. She said scissors never cut her hair, not even bangs. Her hair was a story line; it was curly and wavy in some places and straight in other places. She could show you up and down her hair where each of her children were born."
