Edward Luther Koogle was born in Jackson District of Frederick County in the upper Middletown Valley, on September 8, 1877, second child, first son of Jacob and Mary M. Poffenberger Koogle.
He was the husband of Myrtle Irene Betts Koogle who survives him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Imogene Moore and Elizabeth M. Mummert.
