Married 1) Nellie "Ellen" Atterberry about 1800 in SC and 2) Aris Murden about 1823 in KY. 9 known children with Nellie: William M., Nancy, Nathan, Edward, Sarah, Ellin, Elizabeth, Mary and Elijah. 6 known children with Aris: John M., Benjamin, Cyrus, Cyrus, D. Rice and Melinda. Story goes, Charles went by O'Neal during his life, and after he died the family went by Neal. A very kind Find A Graver has searched the entire cemetery for the headstone but was unable to find it. The cemetery was overgrown and neglected, and she thinks it could be covered by dirt and weeds. It was so very nice of her to take the time to search! Thank you!∼His children were born in Russellville, Logan County, Kentucky. He migrated to Cooper County with his children. He is buried in Pleasant Grove but his stone is no longer visible.
