William C. Alvey Jr., 78, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday at Norton Suburban Hospital.
He was a retired employee of the old Bernheim Distillery, an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Clorena "Blondie" (Cox) Alvey; a son, Richard Alvey; three grandchildren, Angela, David and Amy Alvey; two nieces, Linda (Charlie) Jenkins and Pam Hubbuch; and a nephew, Buddy Waddell. His funeral Mass will be held at noon Thursday at his church, 2141 Lancashire Ave., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens - West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd., a family-owned and operated funeral home centre.
