Walter C. "Shorty" Dager, 96 years old of Convoy, Ohio, passed away at 3:27 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Walter was also a former winter resident of Pinellas Park, Florida.
Walter was born on Sunday, July 27, 1913 in Payne, Ohio the son of the late Fred Dager and the late Mary Ann (Carpenter) Dager. He married the late Pearl Ringenberg on December 22, 1934 in the farm house of Pearl's parents and she passed away on October 13, 2006.

Walter was a member of the East Liberty United Methodist Church in rural Monroeville, Indiana.

Walter was a farmer, truck driver, and carpenter.

Surviving is his brother, Deloss Dager of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Preceding Walter in death were six sisters, Donnabelle Gleckler, Marie Barkley, Laura Larida, Carol DeWert, Lestie Dager, Olive Gerardot; and two brothers, Wilbur and Delmar Dager.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in the East Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry McCune officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Preferred memorials are to East Liberty United Methodist Church.
