- JOE C. SMITHSON - Joe Cobb Smithson, Rt. 1, Paris, was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital here, about 9:30 p.m.. A carpenter, he suffered a heart attack at home in Caviness community, where he and his brother and sister , L. H. Smithson and Mrs. Annie Williams, made their home together.

He was born in Cooper, June 9, 1900, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Smithson. He was unmarried , his sister and brother being immediate survivors. The funeral is set for Friday at 3 p.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel here, with interment in Prairie Ridge Cemetery. Earl Ruble and Louis Rickson, Baptist ministers, had charge.'
