RITES HELD FOR MRS. JOHNSON
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 14, in Scott and McMillan chapel
for Mrs. Callie B. Johnson, 82, who died Sunday in her home. The Rev. Powell
Green officiated and interment followed in Desert View Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Knoxville, Iowa, in 1878 and came to Winslow in
1908 with her parents, the late Dr. Calvin H. Bishop and Dr. Ida E. Bishop, both
pioneer doctors in this area.
She was married in 1919 to Charles Burt Johnson, an engineer.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Temme of Palo Alto, Calif.,
who was here for the funeral, and Mrs. Bettie Hazelwood of Winslow; a son,
Charles E. Johnson, Watsonville, Calif. and an uncle and aunt, Mrs. and Mrs.
Vernon E. Shope of Winslow.
Among her nine grandchidren are Joel and Calvin Hazelwood of Winslow, and
there are four great grandchildren in her family.
