Funeral Mass was Feb 19 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in St. Louis for Edward J Borgmeyer, 86, a native of Keoltztown.
Mr. Borgmeyer died Feb 16, 2000 at his home in St. Louis. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.
He was born Feb 22, 1913, to Frank and Elizabeth Holterman Borgmeyer. His father died in 1954 and his mother in 1958.
He was married Sept. 17, 1949, to the former Marcella Voss, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran and recipient of four Bronze Stars, Mr. Borgmeyer was retired member of Local 25 of the United Auto Workers. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a sister, Johanna (Jennie) Struemph of Freeburg; a son, Marvin Borgmeyer of Baton Rouge, La; a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Donna) DeCarli of St. Louis; and eight grandchildren.
Eight siblings preceded him in death; Mary Brunnert in 1936. Charles Borgmeyer in 1969, August Borgmeyer in 1971, Joseph Borgmeyer in 1975. William Borgmeyer and Fred Borgmeyer in 1979, Sister M Lidwina in 1989, and Catherine Buersmeyer in 1994.
