EAST CORINTH – Floyd Chandler Wiggin, 76, died unexpectedly of a heart attack, June 3, 2006, in Greenville, S.C. He was born April 17, 1930, in Bangor, the son of Thurston H. and Helen P. (Chandler) Wiggin. He was a graduate of East Corinth Academy, where he was bestowed the honor of Eagle Scout. Floyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Floyd was a well- known building contractor with his family, Wiggin Bros., and he built and operated with his wife the Country Side Drive-In in East Corinth and later owned and operated his own construction company until his retirement. He was a member of the East Corinth United Methodist Church, and a member and past master of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 124 AF & AM of Charleston; Scottish Rite Bodies and Anah Shriners. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 115 of East Corinth and the East Corinth Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and his time at Sebec Lake surrounded by his grandchildren, family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family. Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Anne M. (Chesley) Wiggin. Surviving are his daughter, Roberta (Wiggin) Kane and her husband, Scott Kane; grandchildren, Amanda Anne Kane and Michael Scott Kane all of Simpsonville, S.C.; brother, Richard Wiggin and his wife, Marlene, of Bangor; sisters, Annette Webber of Garland; Elizabeth Vigue of East Corinth; brothers-in-law, Alton R. Chesley and his wife, Hildred A., of Warner Robins, Ga.; Roger N. Chesley and his wife, Carolyn Jean, of East Corinth; a sister-in-law, Winona C. Ugone and her husband, James D., of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a Masonic memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday by the officers and members of the Olive Branch Lodge. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Corinth United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Susan Leonard-Ray, of the Advent United Methodist Church, Simpsonville, S.C., officiating. Interment will be in the Corinthian Cemetery, East Corinth.
