John L. Cessna
John L. CESSNA, 82, 1417 Madison street, died at 8 a.m. Sunday in the Rochester nursing home where he had been a patient six months. He had been ill five years.
Born Nov. 17, 1891, in Hope, Ill., he was the son of Eleumuel and Hattie MYERS CESSNA. His marriage was Dec. 25, 1912, in Rochester to Hazel RUSH, who survives. A retired farmer, he had resided here most of his life. He was a member of the Burton United Methodist church, a 60-year member of the Rochester I.O.O.F. lodge; charter member of the Fulton County REMC and had served as Fulton circuit court bailiff.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Devereux) KELLEY, Rochester; one son, Eldon [CESSNA], also of Rochester; two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Carol) CARTER, Nashville, Tenn., and David A. CESSNA, of Windsor, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie ALEXANDER, Rochester; Mrs. K. H. (Alma) DAVIS, Palm. Springs, Cal; Mrs. John (Doris) MORTIMORE, Morehaven, Fla.; two brothers, Otto [CESSNA], of Rochester, and Dale [CESSNA], of Hinckley, Minn. One grandson, John E. CESSNA, preceded in death. Also preceding was one sister and a brother.
Final rites will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. John WORTINGER will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home.
