Jack was born and raised in New York City. He was a graduate of Piedmont College in Demerest, Georgia and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from CCNY. He was a World War II army combat veteran who fought, among other places, at the Battle of the Bulge.
After the War, he moved his family to Los Angeles where he had a long and successful business career. He was, into his 80s, an avid tennis player who also had an abiding interest in politics and public affairs.
He is survived by his children Raphael and Susan Cohen and Barbara Bisgaier, by five grandchildren (Peter and Corinna Bisgaier, Amanda and P.J. Lewis, and Morgan Cohen) and by his great-granddaughter (Jessie Bisgaier). He was predeceased by his first wife Florence Zager Cohen. He is also survived by his second wife Naomi Cohen.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park Mortuary.
