She was born Aug. 12, 1948, at Hutchinson, the daughter of R. B. and Lenore Sandine Shepherd. A lifetime Rice County resident, having lived in Alden and Sterling, she was a farmwife, accountant, former high school and college teacher.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving in the church choir, P.E.O. Chapter W, all of Sterling, and the American Association of University Women of which she was a former state board member, Kappa Delta and the Rice County Community Foundation.
On June 6, 1971, she married Roger Heter at Hutchinson. He survives.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Ryan Heter and wife Allison, Raymond, a daughter, Sue Heter, Chicago; and a grandson, Clayton Heter, Raymond.
Her parents preceded her in death.
