Ensign H. W. March, USNR, was designated Naval Aviator #8995 in 1941. Entered active service via the pre-war Aviation Cadet (AVCAD) program.

Served in the Pacific during the war, and was credited with downing five enemy aircraft, thus qualifying to be called an Ace.

Died of pneumonia at Watts Hospital while serving on active duty, holding the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
