Mrs.William H Mathias
Dies in Ohio
On Saturday Morning October 1st,Mrs.M.W.Rinker of New Market Received the sad news of the death of her mother,Mrs.William H Mathias Who passed away on Friday Night,September 30,1955 at 10:30 O'Clock,While Visiting her son Mr.Walter F Mathias Who is Employed at Cunningham Rest Home at Alvorldton,Ohio.
Mrs.Mathias was Born September 17,1868 near Moorefield,W.Va.She was Married to William H Mathias of Mathias,W.Va.Who Died in 1934.Mrs.Mathias And her husband lived in Cootes Store neighborhood for many years.
Twelve Children Survive,six sons and six daughters.They Being the Following,

Also Surviving are 57 Grandchildren And 56 Great Grandchildren.
The Only Time in Mrs.Mathias's Life when all her children were together at one time was at the passing of Mr.Mathias when they all came home.
Mrs.Mathias was a kind and Loving Wife,a good mother and Loving friend to all.For the Past Five Years she made her home with her daughter Mrs.W.A.Wilt of Tiffin,Ohio.
Funeral Services were held October 4th From a funeral home with burial at Fairmont cemetery in Tiffin,Ohio.
M.Kelley of Tiffin will conduct the services.
Mrs.Mathias was a member of the Mennonite church of Virginia.
On the day of her unexpected death Mrs.Mathias seemed in her usual health and was helping with work in the house.
She often read her bible and after reading the 39th psalm,she was found sitting in a chair having passed away peacefully.

My Great Grandmother was Born Out of Wedd-Lock,Her real Dad was John Strawderman(Son Of George Strawderman And Rachel Elswick)

She went by Three different names:
Sarah"Catherine"Boswell(Basle)Also Spelled Bauswell,Her mom's Maiden Name.(1870 Census)

Her Marriage license miss spelled on her moms maiden name as Basle,Its supposed to be Boswell

Also went by Strawderman,(her fathers Surname).(on a few of her childrens birth certificates)

And Whetzel,Her mothers Married Name.(1880 Census)
