breezeway were added to connect the halves. It remained in the Mathias family
until 1974 when it was deeded to the Mathias Civic Center Association by Wendall
Mathias. And then on 11/24/1978, it was listed on the National Register of
Historic Places.
Tradition is Buried in Field Where John Mathias(B;1804) is buried.They were going to name Field Old Mathias Cemetery,But A Man who did Hardy County Census Already Picked the name John Mathias Cemetery.There usest to be field stones also,not sure if there still is!
