OBITUARY
ELIZABETH ANN "BETTE" MIDYETT
29 DECEMBER 1865 - 1 APRIL 1940

5 April 1940
Long and useful career comes to a close in passing of Mrs E.A. Lamb, aged 75, passed away Monday night at her home near Mount Moriah, 17th. District, after a short illness. The deceased was the the widow of the late Jeff Lamb. Her great sorrow was giving up two noble sons in the World War, Herbert and Ernest, who died in France. She was the mother of twelve children, ten surviving: Tom, Water Valley, Kentucky; Mrs I.F. Gatewood, near Dresden; Mrs Verna Roberts, Washinton D.C.; Mrs C.E. Holladay, Mrs A.B. Golden, Robert J., Mrs Bennett [Emmett] Caldwell, near Mount Moriah; Buford, Chicago; Mrs Buel Warren, Metropolis, Illinois; the Rev. Wayne A. Lamb, Paducah; Mrs Orton Oliver, Chicago. Mrs Lamb was whatg might truthfully be said to be the mother of the community. Hers was a most lovable, kind, cheerful, charitable disposition. By it she drew all close to her. She was a devot, loyal member of the Mount Moriah Methodist Church. In fact, mrs Lamb was one of those lovable christian characters who was universally loved. The community will sorely miss her. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Mount Moriah, by Rev. T.L. Peery, with her Grandsons as pallbears. Interment in the cemetery, W.W. Jones & Sons in charge of the arrangements. The Enterprise joins with a great host of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved.
