Mrs. Van Druff, a daughter of James and Jane Reed, was born July 30, 1888, in Richhill Township. At age five she was taken to raise by John and Isabelle Martin, of Dividing Ridge, Washington County, with whom she made her home until 16 years of age.
She was married October 12, 1912 to Frank Vandruff, who died in 1935. Together they operated a general store at Red Crossing and later at Brock for several years. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Valley Chapel Church at Brock.
Surviving are two sons; Byron D. Vandruff, of Library, R.D., and Wesley E. Vandruff, of Dilliner, R.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Gladys) Fox, of Spraggs; Mrs. Jesse (Florence) Phillips, of Helens, Ark., and Mrs. James Lee (Lizzie Belle) Miller, with whom she made her home; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one half-sister, Mrs. Lulu Grandon, of Claysville.
One sister, several half-sisters and half-brothers are deceased.
