Harold A. (Alvin) Davis, 97, of Little River passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Sandstone Heights in Little River, Kansas.

Harold was born in rural Elyria, Kansas on April 21, 1912, the son of John F. and Edith Bell (Vandruff) Davis.

He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church McPherson, Kansas.

He was a maintenance man at Consolidated Rebuilders in Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was a former member of Good Sams Camping Club in McPherson, Kansas.

He was married to Dorothy Caroline (Achilles) Davis on January 14, 1936 at Hutchinson, Kansas. Dorothy died on January 11, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Harold F. Davis of Dover, Arkansas and Richard J. Davis of Mt. Hope, Kansas; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Gedde and Mildred McCant, a brother, Cecil Davis; and a son, Loren Davis.

At the family's request there will be no visitation

The graveside service will be at North Inman Cemetery, Inman, Kansas at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 with Reverend H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Arthritis Foundation in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid Street, McPherson, KS 67460.
