Musician. Sergeant in the New York City Police Department. In 1960, he began leading the New York City Police Department's Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. As drum major, his kilted Irish bagpipers played at numerous funerals, dinners, concerts and in the St. Patrick's Day Parade for 35 consecutive years. They also performed for Pope John Paul II during his 1979 visit to New York.
