Funeral Held For Mrs. L.E. Turner
Funeral services for Mrs. Elza Breland Turner, 71, were held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3 at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Walker and Dr. Fred Moseley officiating. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery in Leakesville with George County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Turner died Thursday, Sept. 1 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson following an illness of seveerral months. A native of Leakesville, Mrs. Turner had lived in Lucedale for 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and had served as the secretary and church librarian. She was a member of Lucedale Home Demonstration Club, Lucedale Garden Club and secretary of Homemakers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, L.E. Turner, one daughter, Lana Turner and one son, Lloyd Turner, both of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. A.L. Flurry, Miss Irene Breland, both of Jackson and Mrs. Paul McAlister of New Orleans, La.; one brother, Dan E. Breland of Jackson.
Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Turner were James T. Breland, Breland Hilburn, Dan E. Breland, Guyton Turner, William Jonathan Turner and Billy Ballow.
