Thursday, August 31, 1905
The oldest, Andrew Donelson Wilcox, born in 1856 in San Antonio, Texas married Miss Ida Seymour of Georgetown and was for some years connected with the Navy Department and Pension Office. He died of heart failure in 1903 leaving a daughter, Miss Pauline Wilcox, residing in Georgetown.

Funeral services over the remains of Andrew Donelson Wilcox, who died after a brief illness last Wednesday, were held Saturday morning at his late residence, 1760 Corcoran Street. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery by the side of his uncle, the late General Cadmus A. Wilcox, a major general in the Confederate Army, who was also known for his history of the Mexican War, in which he served as an officer. Mr. Wilcox was born in San Antonio, Texas, his father being the late John A. Wilcox, representative of that state in both the Confederate and United States Congresses. On his mother's side Mr. Wilcox was a grandson of Andrew J. Donelson of the noted Tennessee family of that name, a nephew of President Jackson and also minister to Prussia. Mr. Wilcox's mother was Mrs. Mary Emily Donelson Wilcox, known for her social, literary and linguistic accomplishments in San Antonio, Nashville and in this city, where she now lives. Mr. Wilcox was a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute at Lexington, Virginia and for many years afterward was employed in the Navy Department in this city. Later, having graduated in law at the Columbian University, he became a special examiner in the pension office. More recently he had been in the insurance business. He was an only son and with him the male line of his family becomes extinct.
