Alvin L. Toland, 67, of Fredericktown, died Monday, January 4, 2010, in his home.
He was born September 18, 1942, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Cecil and Margaret Rutan Toland.
Mr. Toland had worked as a laborer for Washington County Brickyard and several years as a custodian at the Bentleyville Truck Stop.
On June 10, 1965, he married Jennie Martin, who died May 29, 2006.
Surviving are six children, Donna Mitchell of Pittsburgh, Sharon Toland of Fredericktown, Michael Toland of Fredericktown, Tammy Lancaster and husband Troy of Garner, N.C., Jennie Marie Toland of Denbeau Heights and Michelle Toland of Fredericktown; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Nellie Denman of New Freeport and Goldie Mae Toland of Waynesburg; and three brothers, Edward Eugene Toland of Washington, Jessie Leroy Toland of Waynesburg and Hestle A. Toland of Waynesburg.
A son, Gary Woodrow Toland, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 8, with the Rev. Ernest DeLuca officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery.
