Mary E. Miller,83,of Elwood,died Jan.7,2010 at the home of her daughter in Anderson after an extended illness.

She was born April 27,1926 in Bloomington.

She was a 1943 graduate of University High School in Bloomington and a 1948 graduate of Indaina University where she received a bachelor's degree in education. While in college,she was student secretary and stenographer for Herman B. Wells president of Indiana University.

She married HR Miller Nov. 7 1947.

She was a teacher and taught in a one-room school,Butcher School, and a two-room school, Phillips school both in Monroe County. Later in life,she was a teachers assistant at Edgewood Elementary School in Elwood before retiring in 1996.

She was a member of the Rigdon Church of Christ.

She was the longest standing Girl Scout member for the Wapehani Council and was also a Girl Scout Leader for many
years. She loved the outdoors, flowers, reading and sewing.

She was a member of the Pendleton and Alexandria Garden clubs. She also taught for Pioneer Days for Elwood schools for many years.

Survivors include her husband, HR Miller of Elwood;five children John B. and wife Cathy Miller of Pitsboro, Deborah K. and husband Tom Justison of Anderson, Rebekah J and husband Larry Shelby of Indianapolis, Dinah L. and husband
John Fuller of Bloomfield and Anne S. and husband Hank Wolfe of Milltown;also living with the family for many years,Jean Edwards of Elwood;a brother, Paul and wife Barbara Bradley of Ellettsville;a sister Martha L. Buffler of Oregon; 10 grandchildren Andy(Amanda) Justison, Carey(Chris)Justison-Bonser, Caleb Morrison, Jessie(Garrett)
Savoie, Kyle(Becca) Fuller, Sarah(Korie)Pate, Samuel Conway,
Joshua(Cherrice)Fuller,and Carrie Wolfe; and eight great-
grandchildren, Nora Justison,Vera Bonser,Caden Morrison, Delilah Teague,Landon Savoie, Andrew Fuller, Dylan Fuller and Abby Fuller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred A. and Clarissa J. (Shirrell) Bradley; a brother William R. Ayres; and an infant sister, Ruby Mae Bradley.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday Jan.10,2010 at
Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, with Sam Bob Miller, a brother-in-law to Mary Miller officiating.Private family burial will take place Monday at the Elwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 6p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
