She was born in Washington, D.C., on November 15, 1922, the daughter of Henry G. and Lilla Mace Miller. She married Richard S. Vaninger on July 10, 1949, in Springfield; and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Bright, and a brother, Marshall Miller.
Anne was an active supporter of the American Cancer Society and was a member of King's Daughters and Alpha Gamma Delta. She enjoyed travel and the various sports activities of her family.
She is survived by her son, Richard J. Vaninger (Debi) of Springfield; daughters, Sally Vogl (Karl) of Springfield and Susan Coffman of Loveland, Colorado; a sister, Ellie Spring (Dick) of Winnetka; six grandchildren, Rick Vaninger, Sam Vaninger, Jace Vaninger, Mitch Vaninger, Leslie Coy (Jason) and Andy Coffman; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Max Coy.
A celebration of Anne's life will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Private family interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
