The Rev. Dennis Tucker
Caddo - Funeral for the Rev. Dennis Tucker, 83, of 5853 Lawrence County 221 will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ with the Rev. Larry Compton, the Rev. Waymon Ashley and the Rev. Wallace "Buddy" Fuller officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service
Mr. Tucker died Wednesday, September 27, 1995 at his daughter Opal Borden's home. He was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Lawrence County. He and his wife, Nona Tucker, who died June 28, 1995, hosted a religious television program on Waff-TV in Huntsville for 18 years and a religious radio program on WHOS for 45 years. He pastored Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ for 28 years.
He is survived by two sons, Clinton Tucker and Vernon Tucker, both of Trinity; five daughters, Virginia Naylor of Decatur, Opal Borden of Moulton, Margie Dutton of Nashville and Elaine Barnes and Gail Bumpus, both of Trinity; two brothers, Richard Tucker and Cleo Tucker of Trinity; four sisters, Linnie Guthrie and Effie Shelton of Decatur and Flora Allred and Geneva Campbell of Trinity; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
