In Memorium, Passing of Grandma Walker in Guerneville, CA, Monday, May 8, 1916:

After a lingering illness of many months Grandma Walker has passed to the unknown world from whence no traveler ever returns.
On Monday morning, May 8, 1916, at 6:30, she breathed her last, surrounded by her son's family and friends. She was much esteemed and loved by all for her many virtues.
Sarah Frances Buell was born in Switzerland County, Indiana, February 23, 1836. she was a lineal descendent of the Buell family of the United States, who came to this country from England in 1630.
Her father Samuel Buell, was born in Benton, New York. He was quite a wanderer, as he moved from New York to Indiana, then to Iowa and back again to Indiana, thence across the plains to Oregon with an ox team in 1847, when Mrs. Walker was a child.
Then in 1848 he moved to California, and in the spring of 1852 he returned to Iowa by way of the Nicaragua and New Orleans route. In the spring of 1853 he re-crossed to California again, where Mrs. Walker was married to Simeon L. Griffin, February 26, 1854.
Of this marriage were born the following children: Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Catherine, George Thomas, Ann Eliza, Frances Matilda, Martha Jane, and Emma Ellen, four of whom are deceased. Simeon L. Griffin died in Solano County, Calif., June 19, 1868.
Mrs. Sarah Frances Buell Griffin was married again to L. F. Walker, at Silveyville, Solano Co., Calif., October 10, 1869, and by this marriage there are three children, all living: Kirk Walker, of SanRafael; John K. Walker and Mrs. John Faylor, of Guerneville, Calif. Her second husband, L. F. Walker died a few years ago on the old homestead north of Guerneville about 5 miles.
Since 1910 she has resided with her son, J. K. Walker, most of the time up to her death. She suffered much during her last illness, but bore it patiently and uncomplainingly.
The remains were taken to Dixon, Solano County Tuesday. The interment took place Wednesday in the family plot beside the loved ones who had gone before.
