"Paul J. Leist, 71, of Hillcrest Road, Whitelaw, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, May 28, 1988 at Two Rivers Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10:30 am at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Donald Schneider will officiate at the Mass of Resurrection with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Leist was born March 7, 1917, in the Town of Kossuth, son of Laura Petri Leist and the late Bruno Leist. He married the former Blanche Tesarik on May 7, 1941 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth. She preceded him in death December 22, 1987. Mr. Leist was a member of Boilermakers Local 107 of Manitowoc and was employed as a Master Welder at several power plants and paper mills in the state, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Leist, who resided with her son; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Dale, both at home and Allen and Barbara of Route 2, Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann and James Kramer of Manitowoc, Karen and Elroy Nienhaus of Route 2, Cato and Diane Leist of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Debbie Borowski, Patrick, Todd and Nichole Nienhaus and Chad and Derek Leist and three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Mrs. Agatha Leist of Valders, Kenneth and Janice Tesarik of Francis Creek and William and Josephine Stock of Clover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche; his father, Bruno and a brother, Edward.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, 4 pm to 9 pm this Tuesday and Wednesday until the hour of service. Prayer Service will be held at 6:45 pm this Tuesday led by Deacon Don Schneider."
