Mr. Charles August Laube, II, 73, of 2211 Acorn Lane, Monroe, NC died Monday, July 20, 2009 in CMC Union in Monroe, NC.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Uriel Presbyterian Church with Reverend Fred Powell officiating.

Born December 8, 1935 in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Laube was the son of Edward and Ruth Laube. He was a graduate of The Nichols High School in Buffalo, NY and Culver Military Academy in Indiana and attended The Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. He was a US Army veteran.

Mr. Laube was owner and operator of The Laube Family Restaurants of Buffalo, New York which were started by his grandfather C.A. Laube in 1907 and continued to thrive until 1977 at which time they were sold.

Surviving are his wife Katheryn Blaney Laube; one daughter, Elizabeth L. Roth and her husband Jim of Clovis, California; two sons, Edward John Laube, II of Buffalo, NY and Douglas Scott Laube and his wife Karen of Acworth, GA; two grandchildren, Adam Roth of Michigan and Lindsey Roth of Marshall, Birmingham, Michigan.
