Raymond G. Applegate, Bentley House, Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday (12-16-99) in the skilled care unit of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 92.
Mr. Applegate was born Sept. 17, 1907, in Sharon to Fred and Emma Moore Applegate.
He was a 1925 graduate of Sharon High School.
Mr. Applegate worked for more than 35 years for Bell Telephone in Sharon, and New Kensington, Pa., and retired in 1970 as a district manager.
He was a former member of Central Christian Church, Hermitage.
Mr. Applegate was a member of Sharon Rotary Club, Sharon Elks Club and Telephone Pioneers. He also enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Marian E. Mook, whom he married June 17, 1937, and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ray Pochciol.
