AVENUE, PASSES AWAY
Alpha Augustus Harris, aged 72 years, died in his home, 220 Maple avnue, Sunday at 10:50 a.m. after an illness of only one week. A native of Greene County, he had been a resident of Washington 42 years and had been employed for the past 17 years at the Washington Tin Plate Company plant as an engineer.
A son of Joseph and Rachel Delaney Harris, he was born at Aleppo, March 16, 1864. He was a member of the Second Christian Church, and f the Modern Woodman Lodge.
His wife, Lenore Harris, died on May 16, this year. He leaves two children, Leroy A. Harris and Mrs. J. E. Craig, of Washington, and four brothers, Joseph H. Harris and Warren Harris, of Washington; Miller Harris, Bentleyville, and John M. Harris, Jefferson.
