John Morgan Harris, aged 70, a lifelong resident of northern Greene County, died at 3 o'clock Wednesday evening, December 15, at his home in Jefferson from the effects of a stroke of paralysis with which he was stricken about 8 o'clock Tuesday night and from which he never recovered.

A son of Joel A. and Rachel Harris, he was born February 21 1867, in Morgan Township, near Lippencott, and followed the carpenter trade much of his life. Mr. Harris was twice married. His first wife was Sarah Margaret King who died March 23, 1904, and for his second wife he married Hannah Huffman, who survives. Two daughters were born to his first marriage, Nellie Margaret, deceased, and Mrs. Myrna Junge, of Washington, Pa. Besides the one daughter he also leaves three grandchildren, Allen Harris, Paul and Sarah May Junge, all of Washington, and three brothers, Warren L. and James Harris, of Washington, and Miller Harris, of Bentleyville. Mr. Harris was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at Lippencott.
