S. BERRY TIPPEY ANSWERS SUMMONS FUNERAL THURSDAY
S. B. Tippey, an aged citizen, a resident of Astoria for many years, died at his home here this morning, aged 86 years, 4 months and 11 days. The deceased suffered a paralytic stroke sometime ago and has been in feeble health for several years.
Mr. Tippey was born December 7, 1838 in Williamson county, Illinois and came to Fulton county, Nov. 12, 1850. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Rebecca Leonard, who died in December 1874. Four sons and three daughters were born to this union. All are deceased excepting one daughter, Mrs. Martha Lockard. His second marriage was to Miss Maria L. Weese, January 3, 1878. No children were born to this union.
Funeral services will be held Thrusday at the M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. E. T. Palmer. Burial in the Hickory cemetery.
