Thomas was the 6th child of William Jasper Owens and Fannie Milisie Owens.
He was married to Leona A. Tobin. She and Tom married late in life and had no children together----but she had some daughters from a previous marriage. They lived at 6038 Horton Place in St. Louis City. When Leona died before him, he lived as a widow at 9452 Oakdale Lane in Berkley MO.
Tom used to paint the inside of houses and also hung wallpaper on the inside of houses as an independent contractor.
