He enjoyed reading and gardening.
He was a farmer and stock raiser. During World War II, he worked for RV&W Steel Mill in Coraopolis. He also worked for PENNDOT and Perry Township, retiring in 1962.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Grethel Wilson, Flora Fox, Altha Mae Kiger, and Rose Faye Kiger, and seven brothers, Vernon, Raymond F., Jesse D., Hansel, Daws S., Herman R., and Okle O. Kiger.
