The last 10 winters she had spent in Mesa, Ariz., enjoying the warm weather and returning to Lincoln in March. She loved to travel, work in her garden and fish.
While on a short bus trip to Laughlin, Nev., a friend from Arizona, and she, were killed Feb. 3, when they were hit by a speeding, out-of-control car in the lobby of the Edgewater Hotel while waiting for the tour bus to pick the tour group up.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, and sorely missed by all.
Leaving to mourn her are sons, Ronnie, of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Randy, of Lincoln, Rick (Linda), of Chicago, and Reed, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Heather and Jason, of Lincoln, and Justin, of Omaha, seven grandchildren in Texas, Illinois, and Colorado; brother, Don (Verlyn) Stoural, of Verdigre; sister, Betty (Willie) Bernt, of Monroe; nephews, nieces, cousins, many friends, and special friend, Don Scanlon, of Lincoln.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Al; sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and LeRoy Peyton, of Grand Island; her daughter-in-law, Diane Hindmand; mother-in-law, Mila Hindmand; brother-in-law, Howard Hindmand; and sister-in-law, Vivian.

The Clark County coroner's office has identified the two victims killed when a car sped into a Laughlin, Nevada casino.
81-year-old Helen Hindman of Lincoln, Nebraska and 74-year-old Helene Katherine Walker of Mesa, Arizona were killed when 70-year-old Walter Melvin McGie Jr. drove his car into the front doors of the Edgewater Casino.
Eight other people were injured.
McGie was arrested on two charges of reckless driving causing death. He's free on $6,000 bail pending arraignment March 11.
