( 8-1192) When Egbert was a police officer on the force in Saint Louis, he saved a woman and her two children from an apartment fire. On his third trip into the building the stairs fell, he jumped from the 2nd story, breaking both feet, his clothing burned off. He lay 60 days in the Hospital, never hearing or seeing again, his beard and hair grew out as white as snow.
