US Government Official. She served as United States Treasurer from July 1974 to September 1977. A graduate of the University of New Mexico in 1948, she became active in Republican politics following college. She worked on the presidential campaign of Republican challenger Barry M. Goldwater in 1964, served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1972, and served as a Republican national committeewoman from 1970 to 1974. She was first appointed US Treasurer by President Richard M. Nixon, and reappointed by President Gerald R. Ford. She died at her New Mexico home from heart failure. (bio by: Nils M. Solsvik Jr.)
