Albert Saunders, Jr. of Durand, Michigan, entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. He was 79 years old.
Albert was born July 17, 1930 in Rockingham, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for four years. He retired from General Motors in 1993.
Albert enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, cars, and motorcycles. He was a simple man.
Surviving are: four grandchildren, Tracy Davis and fiancé, Ken Hollers, Jason Saunders, Nathan Saunders, all of Owosso, Alissa Smith of Rochester Hills; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Riley, Todd and Amber; fiancée, Geraldine Johnson and her son, Ronald Johnson; daughter-in-law, Debra Sipka; sister-in-law, Louise Owens, nephew, Larry Owens; Bob Dedic; dogs, Foxy Lady and Pepper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Juanita (Dunn) Saunders; three children, Bobbie Gene Saunders, Cynthia Diane Finley, and Ronnie Albert Saunders.
Services: Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 1 PM at the Durand Eagles Club, 5240 S. New Lothrop Rd., Durand. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon.
