Harley E. Griffitts, 72, of Springfield died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Walnut Ridge. He was born March 6, 1928, in Springfield, the son of Edgar and Goldie Brown Griffitts. He married Evelyn J. Lester in 1947 in Springfield.
Mr. Griffitts was the vice president of Griffitts Construction until 1990 and vice president of Griffitts Home Design after 1990. He was a member of Carpenters Local 16 and Third Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: wife, Evelyn; a son and three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Edgar, Harold, Horace, Henry and Harry; two sisters, Sophie Birchard and Roberta Brunner.
Services: Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
