~A LOVING TRIBUTE TO JEFF~

Jeff was a neighbor of mine for a year before I met him. I used to see him riding his bike past my house daily going to work, with headphones on, happily listening to his radio. He had a sweet roomate he called Aunt Linda

I actually met Jeff one Sunday at noon when my little Pom dog Sabal Sam had a seizure on the back porch (he had a collasping trachea and conjestive hear failure). All of a sudden, Sabal Sam just laid there not breathing and I thought he had passed (The Vet told me he had the condition at birth and he could pass at anytime).

Not thinking clearly, I ran to the front porch and saw Jeff cycling by. I frantically flagged him down and asked him to help me...as my dog had just passed, and I was very distraught...

We went to the back porch, and as Jeff was gently trying to lay Sabal Sam on his pillow, Sabal Sam suddenly started breathing again, but could not move...

The Emergency Vet said Sabal Sam needed to be put down immediately so he would not continue to suffer...

The next day and weeks after, Jeff would stop by after work to check on me, and Aunt Linda would visit me...

When Jeff got laid off his job, he would come over and use my land line phone to apply every week for unemployment because it would take hours to get through and he didn't want to kill his cell battery...

For 3 years prior to our meeting, Jeff went to Grace & Grits Church at the Civic Center every Wednesday, listening to Pastor Jan Puterbaugh speak. Church volunteers also served dinner to the less fortunate before Church... I started attending Church with him...

Jeff loved the water and before Church, we would go to the Saint Johns river and feed the ducks...Jeff had a favorite solid white duck. I named him "Oliver."

He also had a passion for gormet cooking, reading, studying and history. He was well educated and out of the blue, would start quoting Shakespear...

When Jeff started getting sick, Pastor Jan helped in every way possible...We were there for Jeff till the very end.

*~~A MEMORIAL SERVICE AND BURIAL WAS HELD FOR JEFF ON SATURDAY MAY 1, 2010~~

*~~Jeff was creamated and ashes are now in same plot with his grandparents, Hubert and Nellie Maynard in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Saint Albans, Vermont. Jeff was their first grandson~~

God Bless You Dear Jeff...Susan and Pastor Jan
