Pvt. in Capt. Noah Lankton's Company, Col. Mark Hopkin's 1st Berkshire Co. Regiment. He entered service on July 15, 1776 and was discharged July 31, 1776. His company marched to the Highlands, NY by order of Brig. Gen. John Fellows. Col. John Brown signed a certificate stating that Reuben served in the Berkshire Co. Regt. under his command and in the camps as wagoner from July 1 to July 21, 1777.
