George Ball, 88 year old Huron resident, passed away Monday at 12:15 p.m. at Dunn Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Ball was born in Lawrence County March 3, 1876 to John Wesley Ball and Sarah A. Barkley. He married Mary Robbins in August, 1897, and she preceded him in death July 20, 1961.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dewey of Route 1, Mitchell and John of Route 3, Mitchell; 3 daughters, Stella Terry, Huron, Cora Blanton, Fort Wayne and Hester Lindquist, Chicago, 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. Mr. Ball was a member of the Huron Church of God.

Final rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Chapel at Chastain Funeral Home, Mitchell, with Rev. Albert Bridwell, pastor of Huron Church of God, in charge. Burial will follow in Huron Cemetery.

Husband of Mary E. Robbins married 8 Aug 1897 in Martin County, Indiana. To this union eight children were born; Sampson, Walter Dewey, Noble, John Henry, Cora, Stella, Hester and Martha J. Ball.
