Thomas was born in Maspeth and lived there
all of his life,until he enlisted in the Marines
27 May 1966,at the Brooklyn Recruiting
Office.
Thomas arrived in Vietnam and was assigned
to Fox Company,2nd Battalion,1st Marine
Regiment,1st Marine Division.During a patrol
a fire mission was requested.Mortar rounds
were fired and a 4.2 inch friendly mortar
round fell short of its target.Thomas died of
fragmentation wounds to the face,head,chest,
both arms and hands and another Marine was
killed by the same mortar round,5 kilometers
southwest of Que Son.
Survive by his parents;Joseph & Antoinette
