MSGT. William F. Michael USA (Ret.) - SAVANNAH - MSgt William Frederick Michael, U. S. Army (Ret.), 77, of Savannah, Georgia, widower of Phyllis Haymaker Rosetta Michael, died Friday evening, May 15, 2009, at Hospice Savannah. Born in Peoria, Illinois, he was a son of the late Herman J. Michael and the late Bernadine M. Lyttleton Michael. Master Sergeant Michael was a Christian and retired from the United States Army. He was later a furniture repair specialist. Surviving are his sons, Steve (Kristi) Michael of Savannah, Georgia, Richard Michael of Laurel, Maryland, John (Rachel) Michael of Austin, Texas, Kevin Michael of Mechanicsville, Maryland Phillip E. Pearson of Savannah, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Chelsea, Connor, Catherine, Timothy, Ashley, David, Shaina, Ariana, Susannah Michael, Christine Holmes, Cassandra A. Kemp, Richard A. Pearson and seven great-grandchildren; also surviving is Margaret Mary Michael. The funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
