She was born in Martinsburg, Berkely Co., WV, youngest daughter of George Stum and Emma [maiden name unknown]. She died in the Naval hospital in Balboa, then Panama Canal Zone.

Her husband was Capt. Robert James Norman [US Navy, ret'd]. He's a fairly distant [6th and 7th] cousin of mine. You google up any number of references to Robert's military career, but only the local newspaper offers much about Bob and Agnes' family life -- although the paper almost always spelled her maiden name wrong.

A couple of sources:

"The Nashua Reporter" [Nashua, Chickasaw Co., IA], Wednesday, 26 May 1943:

Captain Norman is director of the Canal Zone. He will not come to Nashua following the services Thursday, but plans to visit Nashua this summer, accompanied by Kim.
